Master Health Checkup in Chennai

WHAT IS A MASTER HEALTH CHECK-UP?

A master health check-up includes a set of clinical tests that help to better assess the overall health of a person. The MHC includes a physical examination, ultrasound and laboratory investigations that help to evaluate the health of your vital organs and metabolism. Through these checks, we can identify any early symptoms of diseases – and address them without delay. BloomLife Hospital offers a range of Master Health Check-Up (MHC) programmes for a wide range of requirements. Our goal is to encourage people to take the right step toward a safer, healthier and happier life.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE COMING FOR A MASTER HEALTH CHECK-UP?

So, you have taken the first step to maintaining good health by scheduling a Master Health Check-up (MHC).

This is an excellent step in the right direction – kudos!

To make sure you get the best out of your MHC, please take note of the following pointers.

  • Inform the staff who is scheduling the test of the medicines you are on, and if there is any specific routine of food intake you are supposed to maintain – this will help them advise you on the best times for the test and the fasting period prior to the test. These factors may also need to be taken into account when looking at the results.
  • Most tests are scheduled in the early morning, and a period of fasting (8 to 12 hours) is recommended prior to the test. This is to ensure accurate results for the tests. Check with your doctor (or with a person from the lab) on how long you need to fast before the MHC. In most cases, all liquids except water may not be allowed, so refrain from having your usual cup of coffee or tea before going for the test.
  • For your last meal before the test, try and have a light meal that is balanced and nutritious. Keeping away from excess sugar, processed foods or fats is helpful.
  • Get a good night’s sleep prior to the test. Don’t be anxious or tense – the test is a means to help improve your health, so try and maintain a positive outlook. Moreover, stress and tension could possibly spike up blood pressure, thus rendering inaccurate results on the tests.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Tight, clingy clothes or heels are best avoided, especially if you are going to do a treadmill test. Jewellery is best kept to a minimum.
  • Heavy exercise or strenuous activity is best avoided before the test.
  • Please shower before going for the test, but refrain from using strong perfumes, deodorants or powders.

Most of all, after you get your results, please schedule an appointment with your doctor for analysing the report – ‘Dr. Google’ may not be the best option when it comes to gaining a rounded perspective of the tests’ results!
